Install it with one curl command
Muse Code is a terminal agent orchestrator you drop in with `curl -fsSL https://dev.meta.ai/install.sh | bash` on macOS or Linux. It runs sub-agents in parallel across isolated git work trees, keeps shared context files between them, and logs every action before it executes — so a background run never clobbers your working copy.
Spark 1.2: $1.25 in, $4.25 out, 1M context
The model driving it is live now in the Meta Model API and on OpenRouter, metered at $1.25 per million input and $4.25 per million output tokens with a 1M-token window. It's closed-weight for now; Zuckerberg says he'll "have more to share soon" on open-sourcing.
Built-in /plan, /grill, /goal
Muse Code ships slash-commands for long-horizon work: `/plan` gates a task list behind your approval, `/grill` stress-tests the plan before it runs, and `/goal` drives to completion. Meta says it sustained 1,000+ tool calls across a 24-hour GPU-kernel optimization run.
Benchmarks: a dead heat with the frontier
On Terminal-Bench 2.1 and DeepSWE 1.1, Spark 1.2 clustered tightly with Opus 5, GPT-5.6 Terra, Grok 4.5, and Gemini 3.6 — no clear winner. That makes it a real Claude Code / Codex alternative to keep in rotation, not a demo.

GitHub Copilot pulls Claude Opus 4.5/4.6, Sonnet 4.5/4.6, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Raptor Mini on Sept 1 — move pinned workflows to Opus 4.7/4.8/5, Sonnet 5, Gemini 3.6 Flash, or MAI-Code-1-Flash. Annual individual subscribers keep Sonnet 4.6.
