Ox Alpha is a reasoning model tuned for agentic coding, running at $0/$0 per million tokens on OpenRouter's stealth/ox-alpha route. It takes a 1,048,576-token context, emits up to 131,072 tokens, and accepts text, images and video — point Claude Code or your own harness at it today.
Free for a week, then the meter starts
OpenCode is distributing the model and says it's free for the week following its Aug 20 launch, so the window closes around Aug 27 — and the $0 rate is unlikely to survive once it leaves stealth. Reach it via OpenRouter (stealth/ox-alpha), OpenCode Zen (opencode/x-preview-f-free), or OpenCode Go.
80% on DeepSWE — reportedly
One developer's run put Ox Alpha at 80% on the DeepSWE coding benchmark, ahead of Fable (65%) and GPT-5.6 Sol (52%) — a single data point, not a leaderboard. The provider stays anonymous (guesses run to GLM/Zhipu or Xiaomi MiMo), tool-call errors sit near 4.45%, and throughput is about 50 tokens/second.
The catch: an anonymous host keeps your prompts
OpenRouter notes prompts and completions are retained by the unnamed provider, though not used for training — so this is a free coding model, not a private one. Weigh that before routing proprietary code through it.
