Every built-in tool param just got renamed
The new antigravity-preview-09-2026 agent model switches built-in tools from snake_case to PascalCase parameters, so anything wired to the old argument names will throw until you update the schemas. It also adds find_by_name() and grep_search() for faster in-repo lookups.
The old preview shuts off Oct 5
antigravity-preview-05-2026 stops serving on October 5, 2026 — pin the new preview and re-test now, not the week of the cutoff. File editing also moves from full rewrites to line-range replacements, changing how the model's diffs land in your review flow.
Gemini 3.8 Live goes GA for voice agents
Two audio-to-audio models are now GA: gemini-3.8-live for low-latency voice agents with async function calling, and gemini-3.8-live-extended-thinking for background reasoning mid-call. If you've been prototyping talk-to-your-app agents, the default is stable enough to ship.
Gemini CLI 0.60.0 hardens MCP OAuth
v0.60.0 enforces RFC 9207 issuer identification in the MCP OAuth flow, tightens path and symlink validation, and adds provenance checks on untrusted tool output. If you run MCP servers behind OAuth, update carefully — the stricter checks can reject configs that used to pass.
Claude Code 2.1.274 stops eating your disk quietly
The latest release adds memory-usage warnings with recovery steps as you near the limit, self-heals corrupted session transcripts, and starts MCP servers faster with configurable wait times. Fewer mystery hangs and lost sessions on long-running work.
