'Sign in with ChatGPT' launches across 6 dev platforms
The move makes OpenAI an identity provider like Google and Apple, tapping ChatGPT's user base for your signups — plus Cursor lands on iPad.

OpenAI is now a login button
OpenAI rolled out "Sign in with ChatGPT," letting apps add a one-tap login that shares your name, email, and profile picture — the same model as Sign in with Google or Apple. The six launch partners are Vercel, Supabase, Notion, GitLab, HubSpot, and Airtable.
Vercel and v0 wire it into the login page
A "Continue with ChatGPT" button now sits on Vercel and v0 sign-in pages; you add the Vercel plugin inside ChatGPT and grant team and project permissions without leaving the chat. Existing 2FA and SSO rules still apply, and the feature is in beta.
Why builders should care — and pause
For your own app this is a near-zero-friction signup path into ChatGPT's huge logged-in user base. The tradeoff: you're handing identity to OpenAI, so weigh lock-in and the account-recovery story before making it your primary auth provider.
