Pin Claude to a region, pay 10% more
Anthropic's pricing page now states regional and multi-region endpoints carry a 10% premium over global, starting with Claude Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5 and Opus 4.5 and extending to all future models. If you route Claude through a specific geography for data residency on Bedrock or Google Cloud, your per-token cost just rose 10%; global dynamic-routing endpoints stay at list price, and Opus 4.1 and earlier are untouched.
The residency math gets worse up close
Two more line items on the same page hit compliance workloads: the first-party Claude API adds a 1.1x multiplier for inference_geo "us" on Claude 4.6+ models, and the 4.7-and-later tokenizer emits roughly 30% more tokens for the same text. Budget region-pinned deployments on effective tokens, not the sticker rate—the multipliers stack.
Crush 0.98 ships a terminal status protocol and Grok login
Charmbracelet's terminal coding agent Crush shipped v0.98.0 with support for OSC 7501, the new Program Status Protocol also landing in Bubble Tea, TUIOS and Rex, so TUIs and agents can stream structured progress to the terminal. It also adds xAI/Grok OAuth sign-in and hardens MCP: sessions survive servers that don't support ping, and a hung MCP server no longer freezes the UI.
