ChatGPT Enterprise & Edu disable personal sync connectors Aug 14
On Friday, individually connected Drive, GitHub and SharePoint stop syncing and their data is deleted; only admin-managed sync survives, some replacements TBD.

August 14: your connectors go dark, and the synced data gets deleted
OpenAI disables every individually authorized sync connector on ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu this Friday and begins deleting the data those connectors had already synced. If you personally wired up Drive, SharePoint, GitHub or GitLab Issues, it stops answering from that content — and the cached copy is gone, not just paused.
Enterprise and Edu only, and only the connections you set up yourself
The kill switch is narrow: it hits user-authorized 'quick setup' connections, not admin-managed sync, which is untouched. So the people who actually lose access are individual users on Enterprise or Edu seats who self-connected an app — check whether that's how yours was wired.
The replacement map is uneven — some connectors have none yet
Drive and SharePoint can move to plugins or admin-managed sync via domain-wide delegation today. GitHub and GitLab Issues get non-synced plugins now, with synced versions 'coming soon.' Azure Boards and Basecamp are still 'coming soon,' and Help Scout, Zoho, Pipedrive and others are TBD with the partners.
What to do before Friday
If you rely on any self-connected sync, tell your workspace admin now: they need admin-managed sync (domain-wide delegation for Google or Microsoft) or the plugin equivalent enabled before the 14th. Expect a temporary search-quality dip anywhere only a non-synced plugin exists, since it queries live instead of a pre-indexed copy.
