Claude Code weekly limits drop 17% Sept 14 as the boost ends
A 25% permanent raise sounds good until the +50% boost expires Sept 13. Also: Copilot retention flips on by default, and Vercel adds dashboard agents.

The cut: 17% less than you have today
From September 14, Claude Code's standard weekly limits rise 25% over the original baseline for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise — but the temporary +50% boost running through Sept 13 disappears, leaving you about 17% below today's ceiling. Anthropic's own phrasing: “Compared to today, this works out to a 17% reduction in weekly limits.”
Front-load heavy weeks before Sept 13
The +50% allowance is live only through September 13, so a big migration or a long agent run costs less against your cap now than it will in two weeks. And the weekly number isn't a fixed count of prompts — it moves with model choice, tool use, and effort — so watch your burn. Anthropic says more usage “visibility and control” is coming, without dates.
Elsewhere: Copilot chat retention flips to forever, on by default
GitHub's unified Copilot experience (no earlier than Sept 28) merges chat across the web, Mobile, and the cloud agent, and stretches chat data retention from 28 days to your account's lifetime — enabled by default, with opting out costing you Copilot on github.com and Mobile. Separately, from Oct 1 new Business/Enterprise seats must be paid before anyone can use them.
