Update: Opus 5 and Fable 5 hit by fresh Claude API errors
A day of Claude incidents lands on builders; plus the llm CLI catches up to Anthropic's new SDK, and a voice agent that plays Skyrim with you.

Not just the apps — the model API threw errors too
Anthropic's status page logged multiple incidents over the past day: an hours-long spell of elevated error rates on Claude Opus 5, Fable 5 and other models, plus two separate ~8-minute Claude.ai login failures. The new wrinkle versus this week's earlier full-surface outage is that the model API itself, not just the chat apps, took the hit — if you build on Opus 5 or Fable 5, route to a fallback provider so an Anthropic incident doesn't take your app down with it.
llm-anthropic 0.27 unbreaks the `llm` CLI on the new SDK
Simon Willison shipped llm-anthropic 0.27 on Aug 24, updating the Anthropic plugin for his widely-used `llm` CLI to work with the just-released anthropic v1.0.0 Python library — the same 1.x break that rattled other tools this week. If you drive Claude models from `llm`, upgrade or your calls stop resolving. It rides on llm 0.33 (Aug 22), which moved to httpx2 and added per-call keys for embeddings.
A low-latency voice agent that plays Skyrim with you
A builder's real-time AI companion — it talks and co-plays Skyrim live — hit the Hacker News front page today, riding open stacks like SkyrimNet plus sub-second voice loops (faster-whisper in, streaming TTS out). It's a clean weekend template for any game-aware, voice-driven agent, not just Skyrim.
