Cursor Projects: your coding agent now manages a team of agents
Coordinator agents plan the work, run parallel sub-agents in the cloud, and act on your Slack and PRs unprompted. OpenAI shipped the same idea as an API.

A manager, not a coder
The coordinator plans a feature, migration, or whole app, then spins up as many implementation agents as the job needs and hands the finished work back for you to check. It's in beta and rolling out to all Cursor users starting today.
It keeps building after you close the laptop
Projects run on dedicated cloud infrastructure and hold context over months, so agents keep working while you're offline. The coordinator only spins up a local agent when something needs testing on your own machine.
Subscriptions make it a standing service
Point a Project at a Slack channel, a schedule, or your open PRs and it acts without being re-prompted each time — closer to an always-on teammate than a chat window.
OpenAI ships the same pattern as an API
The new Agents API (public beta) runs cloud agents on the Codex harness with sub-agent delegation and hosted sandboxes — or bring your own via Modal, Cloudflare, E2B, or DigitalOcean. No extra platform fee; you pay only for tokens and tools.
Copilot is retiring MAI-Code-1-Flash
GitHub is pulling MAI-Code-1-Flash from Copilot; MAI-Code-1.1-Flash is the drop-in replacement. If you've pinned the old model in a config or script, repoint it before those requests start failing.
