Update: Claude Code's weekly-limit cut lands today — budget −17%
The +50% promo expired at today's reset. The permanent tier is 25% over the old baseline but 17% under this week's meter — and only the weekly cap moves.

Now live: budget for −17%, not +25%
As of today's weekly reset, the temporary 50% boost is gone. Anthropic's permanent tier is +25% over the pre-May baseline but −17% versus the capacity you've actually had since May 6. Plan against the lower number — it's what your meter now shows.
Who feels it: Pro, Max, Team, seat Enterprise
The cut hits Pro, Max (both 5x and 20x), Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. Free accounts and consumption-based, API-metered Enterprise seats are untouched. Anthropic still publishes no absolute token counts, so every figure here stays proportional.
Unchanged: the 5-hour session window
Only the weekly ceiling tightened. The 5-hour rolling limit that Anthropic doubled on May 6 stays doubled, and the peak-hours throttle it dropped is still gone. Your per-session headroom is intact — it's the weekly budget that's smaller starting today.
What to do this week
Front-load heavy agent runs earlier in your weekly cycle, or shift bulk and batch jobs to the metered API, which this change doesn't touch. Max 20x users see the largest absolute drop; every tier takes the same ~17% proportional hit.
The backstory: May's compute surge, now settling
The 50% boost arrived May 6, when Anthropic tapped 300MW (~220,000 GPUs) at SpaceX's Colossus 1 to expand Pro and Max capacity. Today's permanent +25% is where that temporary surge settles — above the old baseline, below the promo peak.
