What Grok Bot actually is
Each bot runs 24/7 on its own dedicated cloud computer, signs into your existing apps — even ones with no API or MCP — and works across inboxes, websites, and internal tools. You message it like a teammate, and bots can coordinate with each other in group chats. Beta clients cover macOS, Windows, Linux and iOS; Android is listed as coming soon.
It's bundled into Cursor, not sold on its own
There is no standalone price: Grok Bot ships free inside Cursor Ultra ($200/mo), Cursor Premium Teams ($120/seat/mo, ~$96 annualized), and xAI's SuperGrok Heavy. Each plan carries weekly usage caps with token-metered overages, and enterprise access is waitlist-only. If you already pay for Cursor, check your account — you may already have it.
Reportedly running on Cursor's own rails
Installers are served from downloads.cursor.com and the iOS app lists Anysphere — Cursor's parent — as the developer, suggesting Grok Bot runs on Cursor's infrastructure. It follows SpaceX's reported ~$60B agreement to acquire Anysphere, said to close this quarter. Treat the tie-up as reported rather than officially confirmed by xAI.
What you can finally automate
Because it drives apps directly, with no API key required, it can take on the glue work most agents can't reach: triaging an inbox, filling forms in an internal web tool, or running a recurring report across SaaS apps you have no keys for. It learns a workflow by watching you do it once, then repeats it unattended.
The security caveats before you trust it
It's a shared-computer design: all your bots reuse the same logins with no documented per-bot credential scoping, prompt-injection defenses ('Auto Review') are undocumented, and there's no published audit trail. Early reviewers say WATCH for most, TRY only in isolated test workflows, and SKIP for production or sensitive systems.
