GLM-5.2 goes free on Vercel's AI Gateway through Aug 27
The 1M-context, open-weights model that rivals GPT-5.5 on coding now costs $0 in Vercel's eve agent — plus a Claude Code fix that unblocks Slack MCP.

A 1M-context coding model for $0, until Aug 27
Vercel is serving Z.ai's GLM-5.2 free through its AI Gateway (via Blackbox AI) for eve agents until August 27. The model carries a 1,048,576-token context and normally costs $0.50/$3.15 per million tokens — so a repo-wide refactor or a long agent run is effectively free for the next two weeks.
Open weights that trade blows with GPT-5.5 and Opus 4.8
GLM-5.2's weights are on Hugging Face as zai-org/GLM-5.2, and independent tests put it ahead of GPT-5.5 on several long-horizon coding benchmarks at roughly a sixth of the cost; Simon Willison called it the strongest text-only open-weights LLM. The free window is a low-risk way to A/B it against your current agent model before committing.

Anthropic shipped a point release fixing an MCP OAuth redirect-URI mismatch that broke pre-registered OAuth clients like Slack. If your Slack MCP connection kept failing to authorize, update and reconnect.
