Bolt Forge hands Pro users 50x free open-model coding until Oct 14
The trade: opt-in builds train a trillion-parameter open model with Arcee AI. Cline shipped a native app for free open-weight coding the same week.

50x usage, zero overage, through Oct 14
Bolt.new's new Forge agent gives individual Pro users up to 50x their normal usage at no extra cost through October 14 — one monthly bar, no daily caps, and when it's spent it drops you back to Standard instead of billing an overage. It runs open models: GLM 5.3 Flash (default) and GLM 5.3, with Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro as experimental picks that eat allowance faster. Bolt puts Forge at 92.2 vs 101.0 for Claude Opus 5 on its internal Build Index — roughly 91% of the top paid agent, for free.
The catch: your builds become training data
There's a price that isn't money: the 50x allowance is contingent on opting into data sharing, and opted-in sessions send your prompts, code, and the full trail of errors, edits and fixes to partner Arcee AI to train a trillion-parameter open-weight model shipping in October. Bolt says it's opt-in every time, anonymized, with secrets and personal info stripped under a signed data-processing agreement. Fine for a throwaway weekend build — think twice before pointing Forge at anything proprietary.
Cline Desktop: open-weight coding, no editor needed
Cline shipped a native desktop app (macOS and Windows, beta) for its open-source coding agent — no VS Code required. It comes with free hosted models via ClinePass (DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash, Musespark-1.3) or BYOK with any provider, plus parallel multi-agent runs, web search, voice input, scheduled tasks, and one-click import of tasks from Claude Code. The CLI hit v3.0.62 the same day.
