  • The new agent, now in preview on every Copilot plan

GitHub's rebuilt Copilot agent for Visual Studio is in public preview, built on the Copilot SDK to get more tasks right the first time with less back-and-forth and reply in shorter, scannable answers. It runs on all Copilot plans, free included.

  • Built-in .NET and Azure skills

Visual Studio now ships expert-authored skills for .NET and Azure that steer the agent through those workflows. They're off by default — flip them on from the tool picker — so nothing changes until you opt in.

  • Right-click code review on any selection

Select code, right-click, and pick Copilot Actions -> Review Selection for inline comments from Copilot code review, no pull request required. It's available on every Copilot plan.

  • Org-wide custom instructions

Organization owners can now set custom instructions that apply to every member's Copilot automatically, giving teams one place to encode house style and guardrails. Requires Copilot Business or Enterprise.

  • Heads-up: patch Nuxt now

Nuxt's July advisory fixes eight issues, led by a critical RCE in Nuxt DevTools and a high-severity server-side RCE via server-island props. Upgrade Nuxt 4 to 4.5.1 or Nuxt 3 to 3.21.10 with `npx nuxt upgrade --dedupe`, then purge cached authenticated pages.

  • Elsewhere: ChatGPT's EU VLOP clock starts

The EU is moving to designate ChatGPT a Very Large Online Platform under the Digital Services Act, starting a four-month countdown to transparency, risk-assessment, audit, and researcher-data-access duties. Expect EU-facing shifts in how moderation and recommendations get disclosed.
