  • GPT-6 Astra lands in the CLI — and on Bedrock

Codex CLI 0.154 adds GPT-6 Astra to the model picker and to the Amazon Bedrock catalog, so you can drive OpenAI's newest model straight from your terminal — and Bedrock shops get it inside their existing AWS billing and data boundary.

  • Isolated worktrees for parallel runs

New `--worktree` / `/worktree` support spins up an isolated checkout for a new or forked session, so several Codex agents can run at once without stepping on each other's files. It's experimental, but it's the missing piece for fanning work out across parallel agents.

  • Answer without stopping the run

Codex can now ask a question inline — pick a suggested choice or type your own — while it keeps working, instead of blocking on you. Windows sessions also share one background daemon with managed updates and lifecycle commands.

  • Elsewhere: Atomic, an auditable agent runtime

Open-source Atomic (bastani-inc/atomic) lets you define a coding agent's process in plain language — stages, checks, and approval gates — instead of hoping it follows your prompt. A tidy weekend project if you've wanted real guardrails around an autonomous agent.

  • Elsewhere: ChatGPT's Data agent builds dashboards

OpenAI's new Data agent connects ChatGPT (Work and Business, plus Codex) to warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake and Redshift and turns a plain-English question into Power BI/Tableau-style dashboards. It's gated to the paid Work and Business plans, not the free tier.
