Berd drops Claude Code, Codex, and Block's own Goose behind a single desktop UI, keeping each project's context and chat history on disk instead of scattered across terminals and tabs. It's free and Apache-2.0 — no seat cost, no lock-in.

It's model- and harness-agnostic: point it at any provider with your own keys and swap the underlying agent as you like. History lives locally, not in a vendor cloud — a real difference when you're touching client or proprietary code.
Clone it and run it this weekend
The repo is live: built on Tauri 2 and React 19 over a Goose backend, it's `just setup` then `just dev` to boot on macOS, Windows, or Linux. 'Distribution seams' let a team ship a branded internal build with managed providers.
