ChatGPT and Claude subs now grant matching monthly API credits
Both labs now turn your $100–$500 plan fee into API credit — OpenAI applies it to an org, Anthropic's expire. Effectively a free monthly build budget.

OpenAI: your ChatGPT plan price, back as API credit
ChatGPT plans at $100, $200, or $500/mo now claim a matching API-credit grant, applied to one of your API organizations. A Pro or Business sub you already pay for effectively doubles as a prepaid API budget.
Anthropic got there first — and its credits expire
Claude Max and Team at the same $100/$200/$500 tiers already grant matching credit, but Anthropic flags its version as expiring, so burn it within the month. OpenAI's changelog lists no expiry.
What this unlocks for builders
At the $200 tier the matched credit alone covers tens to hundreds of millions of input tokens depending on model — enough to prototype an agent, batch-process a dataset, or run evals you'd otherwise skip at no extra spend. Check your plan's billing page to claim it.
