Balanced reviews by default — and it costs more
On Sept 28, Copilot's code-review effort flips from Lite to Balanced, which spends more premium requests and Actions minutes on every review. Prefer Lite? You have to reselect it before the deadline, or your review bill climbs silently.
Chat retention: 28 days to account lifetime
The new unified Copilot policy extends chat data retention from 28 days to the lifetime of your account. You can opt out, but that means losing Copilot Chat on github.com and in GitHub Mobile entirely.
