Mini is free, v6 and v6-wild are paid
Suno shipped three models — v6, an experimental v6-wild, and a faster v6-mini that's free for every user — and says it will retire the older models. All three were built with licensed data from Warner Music, BMG, and Believe; Suno has raised over $819M to date.
It edits songs now, not just generates them
v6 rewrites specific song sections from a prompt or lyric edit, takes text, image, or video as references, isolates instruments, and builds beats from a sample. That pushes Suno from one-shot generation toward an editable tool you can wire into a product’s soundtrack pipeline.
The rights story is better, not settled
Suno settled with Warner, partnered with BMG, and is adding an opt-in program so labels and artists earn on remixes. But it still faces suits from Sony, Universal, and Jason Isbell, and now watermarks every track and caps downloads by tier — plan around both before you ship commercially.

DeepSeek quietly opened a two-day beta of V4.1 Flash — a new architecture with native multimodal (text + image) at V4-Flash pricing and 20 concurrent requests per account, via endpoint deepseek-v4.1-flash-expires-on-0910. It is not a formal release and goes offline Sept 10, so try it now.

Claude Code 2.1.265 adds /skill-doctor to flag unused skills and their context cost, --plugin-dir to load a whole folder of plugins at once, and raises tool-output caps (bashOutputMaxChars, taskOutputMaxChars) up to 128K. The follow-up 2.1.266 fixes a gateway-vs-API-key regression from the same day.
