Spark can now act inside your logged-in desktop Chrome, using your saved passwords and live sessions to do things like book flights or schedule apartment viewings — a Gemini indicator sits in the top bar while it works. Until now it only ran in an isolated remote browser, so this is the jump from demo to your actual accounts.
The security model is the real story
Because it holds your real credentials, Google gates the risky parts: you manually approve payments and sensitive actions, and it ships explicit prompt-injection protection so a malicious page can't hijack the agent. If you build browser agents, this is the trust bar users will now expect you to clear.
