  • New seats must be paid before they work

As of today, every new Copilot Business or Enterprise seat is charged before the user can access it, and overage past your included usage now needs additional payment to keep running. Rates are unchanged; existing customers move onto the new terms October 1.

  • Chat retention jumps to your account's lifetime

On September 28, Copilot Chat on github.com, GitHub Mobile, and the cloud agent merge into one experience under a single policy — and chat data retention extends from 28 days to your account's lifetime, on by default. Opting out removes the github.com and Mobile chat entirely.

  • Code review gets more thorough by default

Also September 28, the default effort level for Copilot code review flips from Lite to Balanced: deeper reviews that consume more of your usage. Orgs and repos that want to stay on Lite have to set the override before the switch.

  • Elsewhere: MiniMax H3 and H3 Max are half price on Vercel

Vercel cut MiniMax H3 and H3 Max to 50% off on the AI Gateway through September 13 — a cheap window to benchmark MiniMax's latest against your current model behind a single gateway key.
