The +50% weekly boost expires tonight
Anthropic's temporary +50% weekly-limit boost for Claude Code — live since spring and extended repeatedly through August — ends Sept 13 at 11:59pm Pacific. From Sept 14 the new standard is a permanent +25% over the old pre-promo baseline, applied to Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans.
Why '+25%' and '−17%' are both true
The headline raise and the real cut use different yardsticks: on an indexed scale the new cap is 125 — 25% above the old 100 baseline, but 17% below today's boosted 150 (125÷150≈0.83). Anthropic's own notice, posted then pulled and reposted in clarified form, conceded that compared to current usage it's a 17% cut. No absolute token counts were published.
What's not changing: your 5-hour caps
The rollback hits weekly limits only. The doubled 5-hour session limits stay — as does the removal of peak-hour throttling for Pro and Max, both credited to Anthropic's SpaceX Colossus compute deal. Before you upgrade or churn, run /usage to see where you actually land after a full week; if you rarely hit the weekly ceiling, you won't feel this.
