Alipay turns storefronts into agent-ready MCP tools and skills
China's biggest wallet just made every storefront callable by AI — a cross-agent interoperability protocol and 100M free tokens aim to pull builders in.

Any storefront becomes an agent skill
Alipay's new full-stack agentic commerce platform, unveiled Aug 18 in Hangzhou, converts existing web pages, products and service workflows into agent-ready skills and MCP tools — so a merchant with no AI team can be reached by its Ah Bao assistant. KFC, Luckin Coffee and Mixue are already taking orders and payments through the agent.
AHA: one request across many agents
The stack ships with AHA, an interoperability protocol that lets a single request span multiple agents and devices — "find an EV charger and order a coffee" resolves without app-switching. Ah Bao already reaches five phone brands (~70% of China's market) and 16 automakers.
100M free tokens to build on it
To pull in developers, Alipay is handing every user 100M free tokens plus subsidies on transaction tokens and cut payment fees. If you build shopping or booking agents, there's now a rail and a protocol to target — China-first for now, but a live template for where agentic commerce is heading.

OpenRouter's new Activity Dashboard breaks spend down by agent, model and individual request — handy if you route across providers and can't tell which agent is quietly burning your tokens.
