Claude Code syncs your claude.ai skills and plugins into the terminal
v2.1.275 ends the copy-paste; a same-day v2.1.276 unbreaks proxy setups; and the API adds on-demand compaction to cap tokens on long agent runs.

Your claude.ai skills follow you to the CLI
Claude Code 2.1.275 automatically syncs the skills and plugins from your claude.ai account into terminal sessions — no more manually copying them across. Opt out per machine with `syncClaudeAiSkills: false` or `syncClaudeAiPlugins: false` if you'd rather keep the two environments separate.
Upgrade now if you route through a gateway
2.1.275 also shipped a regression: requests fail with `400 … Input tag 'advisor_20260301'` whenever `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` points at a proxy or LLM gateway. Same-day patch 2.1.276 clears it — if you're behind a corporate gateway or LiteLLM, skip straight to .276.
Two smaller wins: marketplace installs and send-now
`/plugin install <plugin> --marketplace <source>` now pulls a plugin from a specific marketplace in one command. And a new send-now key (Ctrl+Enter, or Ctrl+X Ctrl+S) interrupts the current turn to fire off whatever you've queued instead of waiting the turn out.
The API can compact a conversation on demand
The Messages API's new `compact-2026-09-04` beta header lets you compact a chat when you choose: send a `compaction` parameter, get back a signed summary block, and swap it in for the older turns on your next request. Recent turns stay word-for-word and thinking blocks stay valid — a clean way to cap token cost on long agent runs.
