Wan 3.0 on Vercel: 30-second AI video with audio from one API call
Alibaba's video model joins the AI Gateway with async jobs, MiniMax M3 goes free through Sept 6, and Connect's Linq lets agents text over iMessage and SMS.

30 seconds of video, and it comes back scored
Wan 3.0 is now a Vercel AI Gateway model: up to 30 seconds of video with synchronized audio generated in one pass, from text, image, video, or audio references, at up to 1080p. You call it like any other model, with no GPU cluster to rent.
Run video gen as a background job
Video takes too long for a normal request, so the Gateway added async video generation: fire off a job and collect it via a webhook, a start/status pair, or short polling. That is the gap between a demo and something you can actually ship.
MiniMax M3 is free until Sept 6
M3 and M2.7 are free on the AI Gateway through September 6 while GMI Cloud serves them; use the -free model IDs or pin the provider. A two-week window to prototype without spending a token of budget.
Your agent can text a human now
Vercel Connect reached GA, and its new Linq connector lets apps and agents send and receive over iMessage, RCS, and SMS. Wire up an agent that pings your phone when a long job finishes or a threshold trips.
Elsewhere: Claude Code tightens permissions
Claude Code 2.1.246 adds an Auto mode tab in /permissions to view and edit its classifier rules, and now shows a startup warning for wildcard Bash allow-rules, a sensible nudge given the week's run of agent-exploit reports.
