Kimi K3, now inside Copilot
Moonshot's open-weight Kimi K3 is generally available in GitHub Copilot on Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise, across VS Code, JetBrains, Xcode, the CLI, the cloud agent, and mobile. It runs $3 / $15 per 1M input/output ($0.30 cached), is hosted on Fireworks, and ships off by default for Business and Enterprise until an admin enables it.
Vercel's image registry goes public
You can now flag a Vercel Container Registry repository public, letting anyone with a Vercel account pull your images read-only; private stays the default. It's a clean way to ship base images or open-source containers without standing up a separate registry.
A free domain lands with Vercel Pro

OpenJDK's AI-code ban resurfaces
Oracle's OpenJDK still bars generative-AI contributions over copyright and provenance risk, even as its sibling GraalVM allows them — a split that climbed Hacker News's front page again today. If you send patches to the JDK, they have to be hand-written.
