Origin, Cursor's own Git hosting, is rolling out in early beta to all paid Cursor plans starting today. Hit +New to spin up a repo; each codebase gets its own cursor.com/codebase/[name] URL. It's the missing layer beneath Cursor's editor and cloud agents.
GitHub stays the source of truth — for now
You sync existing GitHub repos instead of migrating: pushes still land on GitHub, and PR comments sync both ways within seconds. Low-risk to try, and nothing forces you off GitHub yet.
Built for agents, not humans
Cursor says Origin sustains 22.6 commits per second into a single repo and hundreds of thousands of clones and pushes an hour — the load when dozens of agents branch and rebase at once. It runs on stacked-PR tech from Graphite, the code-review startup Cursor acquired in late 2025.
Review is the new bottleneck
A Review tab pings you only when human judgment is needed, so agents and people can clear open PRs together. Cursor's bet: generation is cheap now, and safely merging agent-written code is where workflows actually stall.
The timing cuts deep
Preview deploys and CI wire in through Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite. And Origin shipped the same day GitHub had a worldwide outage across Actions, the API and PRs — a platform whose reliability AlphaSignal pegs at 48 major outages in 12 months.
