FLUX 3 Image: coordinate-level edits via API; 50%-off ends Oct 8
Black Forest Labs ships 4K output, up to 10 reference images, and JSON bounding boxes that pin unchanged regions—but open weights are still weeks out.

Editing that's addressable, not just promptable
FLUX 3 Image places and edits elements on a 0–1000 coordinate grid with four operations—keep, move, add, remove—so your app can store a layout as JSON, validate the coordinates, and ask for precise revisions instead of re-rolling a prompt. Regions outside an edited box usually stay identical, though BFL stops short of guaranteeing pixel-exact results.
4K, 10 reference images, and a discount clock
Output runs from 768px to 4K across 15 aspect ratios, with up to 10 reference images for style and character consistency. Launch pricing is roughly half list—about $0.024 at 1K and $0.30 at 4K—until Oct 8 at 8am Pacific, when it reverts; references above 4MP are downscaled before processing.
API and Playground now; open weights 'in the coming weeks'
It's live through BFL's API and browser Playground today, but the open-weight 'FLUX 3 Dev' model you could self-host isn't out yet—promised for the coming weeks with no license or size confirmed. Independent benchmarks haven't landed either, and GPT Image 2.5 still tops the editing leaderboards this would challenge.
