OpenAI caps Business Standard's Codex and Work at a 5-hour window
The split between Standard and Premium seats is now official: as few as 5 GPT-6 Astra messages per window on Standard, no cap and 5x usage on Premium.

Standard seats now run on a 5-hour clock
OpenAI's ChatGPT Business limits page — updated within the hour — now spells out a 5-hour usage window for Work and Codex on Standard seats. Per window you get roughly 5–45 messages on GPT-6 Astra, 10–100 on GPT-5.6 Sol, 25–200 on Terra, and 250–2,000 on Luna; the clock starts on your first message and resets when the window ends.
Premium is the uncapped tier — at 5x
Premium seats carry no 5-hour limit and 5x the included Work and Codex usage of Standard, making uninterrupted long-horizon agent runs an explicit paid upgrade. If your team runs a big Codex refactor on Standard, that's now the line between one continuous pass and stalling mid-task until the window resets.
Check your seat before the next long run
Confirm your tier in workspace admin and schedule heavy Codex or Work sessions around the 5-hour boundary — the weekly quota still stacks on top. It follows OpenAI restoring the same cap on Plus in late August, so the 5-hour window now spans solo and team plans alike.
