GitHub Copilot content exclusions go GA in the CLI and app
Files your org marks off-limits finally stay out of terminal and desktop prompts — and managed orgs can now pin any model as Copilot's default.

Your CLI prompts finally respect exclusions
GitHub Copilot now enforces content-exclusion policies in the Copilot CLI and the standalone app, not just the IDE. Files and paths your admins mark off-limits — .env, vendored deps, client-confidential dirs — stay out of prompts and completions wherever you drive Copilot from the terminal.
Orgs can pin any model as Copilot's default
Enterprise-managed settings can now set any available Copilot model as the default for new conversations. If your completions or agent runs suddenly behave differently, check whether your org swapped the default model out from under you — and teams can finally standardize on one instead of GitHub's pick.
