Microsoft Decision-1: a $0.042/M classifier that undercuts OpenAI
The decision-model price war turns into a rout — plus StepFun's 1M-context coder on OpenRouter, 120+ Google Workspace agent tools, and Deno's wind-down.

A $0.042/M classifier, output billed free
Microsoft shipped Decision-1 in Foundry and on OpenRouter: a decision model that returns calibrated probabilities for yes/no, multiple-choice and rating-scale tasks at $0.042 per million input tokens, with output tokens free on the listing. Built on Qwen3.5-9B, it's about 2.4x cheaper than OpenAI's day-old Decisions API ($0.10/M) — if you're paying full generation prices to route, gate or run rubric evals, this is the new floor. Check the billing fine print before you switch.
StepFun's 1M-context coder is live on OpenRouter
Step 5 Preview — a 600B-param sparse MoE with 27B active, a 1M-token context and 64k max output — is now callable on OpenRouter at $1/$2.70 per million in/out ($0.05/M cache reads). It's tuned for long agentic runs over big codebases and documents, and StepFun says open weights land Oct 15, so you can prototype on the API now and self-host next week.
120+ Gmail, Docs and Sheets tools for your agents
The community Google Workspace MCP server hit v2 with roughly 121 tools across Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Tasks and Chat, now with OAuth 2.1 + PKCE multi-user auth, core/extended/complete tiers to keep context small, a CLI, and a read-only mode. If you're wiring an agent into Workspace, it's a drop-in backend instead of hand-rolling API calls.
Let your coding agent draw on your screen
A new open-source macOS CLI lets agents like Claude Code and Codex paint click-through arrows, boxes and labels over any window — useful for visual debugging, screen recordings, or an agent pointing at exactly what it changed. It only annotates; it can't click buttons for you.
Deno is joining Cloudflare—plan your exit ramp
Cloudflare is acquiring Deno. The runtime stays open source and gets roughly one more year of monthly bug-fix and security releases, after which active development ends. If Deno is in your stack, start scoping migrations (Node, Bun or Workers) now rather than at the deadline.
